“There are doubts in the ranks of Western partners” – Kommersant FM

The Kremlin is skeptical about the prospects for ending Western aid to Ukraine. As you know, the United States did not include this item in the interim budget, which was approved on October 1. In turn, the EU officially assured Kyiv of further support, despite the fact that the community’s foreign ministers were unable to agree on military assistance to Ukraine worth €5 billion in 2024. Kommersant FM political commentator Dmitry Drize believes that Western funding will inevitably continue.

Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov did not believe America. And he did not appreciate the efforts, in particular, of representatives of the Republican Party, to deny Ukraine further funding. Budget battles continue in Congress – to avoid a shutdown, they adopted a compromise bill that will allow the government to continue its work for a period of 45 days, until November 17.

But Kyiv was denied money – this point was deleted from the document. However, President Joe Biden promised not to leave his partner without the help he needs. The press secretary of the Russian President noted that this is “a temporary phenomenon, and, of course, the United States will continue its involvement in this conflict, in fact direct.” Dmitry Sergeevich also obstructed the concept of a pro-Russian politician in Europe.

This means that Robert Fico, who stands for constructive relations with Moscow, won the elections in Slovakia. From the Kremlin’s point of view, pro-Russian is absurd. There are leaders who defend the interests and sovereignty of their countries. Nevertheless, it is possible to identify a certain category of leaders close to the Russian Federation.

This is Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, mentioned by Fico. It’s not clear about Donald Trump, but he probably also falls into this category to one degree or another. Although it seems that all presidents and prime ministers swear to protect the sovereignty and interests of their countries. Let’s not argue or debate, no, no.

What is all this for? It is noticeable that there are doubts among Western partners regarding further support for the Ukrainian ally. And, what is especially important, this is not just a change in sentiment, it is supported by public opinion – the votes of voters. Actually, this is what we saw in Slovakia and even in America, where serious progress is also taking place.

So what are we waiting for? But here we can agree with Dmitry Peskov.

For the West, supporting an independent Ukraine is a matter of principle. And it doesn’t matter at all who is in power. But the conditions for providing assistance are changing – the requirements are becoming stricter, and Vladimir Zelensky’s office may not like this.

But the Western voter should like it, at least he can be somehow reassured, they say, not a dollar will disappear from his pocket. Yes, in the Western world it is generally accepted that the state is the taxpayers, that is, the population, the people.

Now, as for politicians who are not pro-Russian, but who defend the sovereignty of their countries. Brussels has officially confirmed that it will continue to support Ukraine. And German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock spoke about the large European Union from Lisbon to Lugansk. By the way, they used to talk about a single space from Lisbon to Vladivostok. But almost 13 years have already passed since the appearance of this then popular idea. And pro-Russian politicians in Europe, as we see, are absurd to one degree or another.
