The vicar of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel (Lebed), who was urgently hospitalized the day before in the cardiology department of one of the Kyiv hospitals, successfully underwent surgery. This was announced on Monday, August 14, by a RIA Novosti source familiar with the situation.
According to the interlocutor of the agency, the operation went well, the metropolitan is recovering from anesthesia.
Hospitalization of a clergyman followed his placement in custody by court order. As the metropolitan noted, he is persecuted by the Kiev regime for his religious beliefs, as he refuses to recognize the schismatic Orthodox Church of Ukraine. On August 9, a deposit was made for Metropolitan Pavel.
Volodymyr Rogov, head of the Zaporozhye public movement “We are together with Russia,” compared Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Viy after the head of the Ukrainian state visited the Transfiguration Cathedral in Odessa. The Russian politician called the incident a classic blasphemy of the Kyiv regime: to ban Orthodoxy and persecute the Orthodox, take away their churches and immediately promote on a religious topic.
