On Christmas Eve in America and Egypt, large-scale New Year’s performances were held for Russian children. The locals were there too. MK found out how the New Year holidays will be for Russian children in other countries.

“Russian” New Year’s performance for children in America is held annually. Therefore, the experience of diplomats is great. With the combined efforts of the Embassy, ​​the children’s dance group from New York and the dance group of the Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist in Washington, within the walls of the representation, they gave a performance with the participation of Santa Claus in a luxurious blue fur coat, an elegant Snow Maiden and characters from Russian fairy tales. Also, the children were entertained by a magician with a show program, they could do face painting, temporary tattoos, take part in a master class of balloon figurines. And, of course, they laid a sweet table, handed out traditional gifts with chocolate “bears” and “squirrels”. “At first everything was decorous, then the children dispersed,” says Margarita from Washington. — The age of the children was primary school, mostly, and some brought American friends with them. They were a little surprised, of course, by Koshchei and Baba Yaga, and by the fact that Santa was somehow unusual. But the actors at the performance quickly broke the ice. They all left very satisfied.

As for the resort of Hurghada, in which several thousand Russians permanently live, families came there with Frost and a Christmas tree in the lights. The organizers were several companies with Russian owners, the curator was the Consulate General of the Russian Federation. “More than 350 children of our compatriots and about the same number of parents gathered for the holiday,” said Viktor Voropaev, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Hurghada. Grandfather Frost and the Snow Maiden were greeted by “masks” dressed up as characters from fairy tales, where in Egypt and without animation. The cartoon “Prostokvashino” was shown on the screens. Then there was a New Year’s concert “Miracles happen!”, staged by a local group. But the highlight of the program was the artistic and choreographic production of “Fair” on the theme of Christmas in Rus’. Traditional Russian dances with round dances and fast dances, ancient carols and other exotic traditions for Egypt united everyone so much that the audience sang in chorus and danced in the aisles.

As MK managed to find out, in other countries the scale of the “Russian New Year” is more modest, sometimes it is a completely private initiative. But the request for Santa Claus, Chimes, Olivier and everything connected with them is great. For example, in Israel there is a “concierge service” that “looks for and decorates Christmas trees.” In a country where Christmas is not celebrated (although they sometimes put Christmas trees in the squares), many are unable to deny themselves the tradition of celebrating the New Year “as in childhood.” With Christmas tree, tangerines and Olivier salad. Especially now, arrivals to Israel this year have increased.

Of course, the “Russian New Year” is celebrated in popular resorts, where everything is for tourists. In Turkish Antalya, at least two performances for children with the telling names “Babkayezhkin New Year” and “Well, Santa Claus, wait a minute” have been announced. “The cost of a child ticket without a gift is 35 lire, with a gift 60 lire.”

In Pattaya, too, there will be more than one New Year’s show, there are several competing companies doing this. Local “ours” report that the most popular of them from year to year is organized on the basis of the kindergarten “7 flowers”, translated as “Semitsvetik”.

In Germany, the capital of the New Year for Russians can be considered the “regional center” of Bavaria Munich. There, the local Russian drama theater, with the participation of a children’s early development studio, will show the performance “The Kid and Carlson” – why not a traditional vacation trip to the “Satire Theater”? Even in Munich, there is a home delivery service for the New Year. The organizers promise “everything is like in Russia”: New Year’s poems and songs, round dances around the Christmas tree and an assistant Snowman. The organization is called magnificently: the Munich residence of Father Frost and the Snow Maiden.

It is no secret that this year there have been more relocators from Russia in neighboring countries. And they also celebrate the New Year there as they used to. In Kyrgyzstan, for example, the Russkiy Mir organization used to hold New Year’s events, including charitable ones. Now the New Year holidays, with round dances and Santa Claus, who shouts: “Fir-tree, burn!”, Are held in the Zhaiyl region of Kyrgyzstan. And in the resort area of ​​Karakol near Lake Issyk-Kul, where historically, since Soviet times, there are many Russian-speaking people, and now they have arrived. There is planned New Year for 65 kids.

The most important “grandfather”, Frost from Veliky Ustyug, recently visited Armenia. This year Moroz Ivanovich flew around Belarus, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Germany and Armenia. Through the “Russian House”, the main Grandfather of Russia visited the cities of Gyumri, Metsamor, Armavir and Etchmiadzin and, of course, Yerevan. In the capital of Armenia, he easily walked around the square and congratulated the people. But it was, so to speak, an official visit. And a big New Year’s performance in Yerevan will be held in the park of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. “The New Year’s fabulous event will be accompanied by beautiful performances performed by students of the State Song Theater,” the announcement reads. Santa Claus, Snow Maiden, heroes of fairy tales, children and a photo zone.

And next door, in Azerbaijan, the Russian Drama Theater Baku shows an eclectic musical show, where Aladdin, Queen Elzya and Olaf the deer, Lol dolls, pokemons acted as friends of Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden … “Vacations of Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden” is called.

Catching the request for Santa Claus “in the export” version, companies appeared that were ready to organize the New Year in Russian style anywhere in the world. “In Kazakhstan, Turkey, Georgia, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan” they promise to arrange any event with invited artists (the organizers themselves are from Kazakhstan). But NG is offered a musical about Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden. The goal of the organizers is to “demonstrate the traditions of the Motherland to Russian children who grow up abroad.”
