Theater of Natalia Sats: “Giselle” – premiere on the stage of RAMT

On the eve of the opening of the Big Stage, the Natalia Sats Children’s Musical Theater presented the first big ballet premiere of the season – Giselle by Adolphe Adam, a great classic of choreographic art, an immortal legend of love, an imperishable masterpiece of academic dance. Two premiere shows were held on the stage of RAMT.

The Immortal Giselle is one of the most famous ballets in the world, the pinnacle of classical romantic ballet, where love, suffering and sacrifice play the main role. In my version of this masterpiece, I allowed myself to make small changes – but with only one goal: to make the performance alive, to breathe flesh and blood into this love story, to tell it in such a way that it would touch the audience and show them that ballet can be the story of life. , and not just an aesthetic spectacle, that with its help you can convey all the colors and all the shades of relationships and be transported to a world where romance, love and passion reign not only on stage, but also beyond it, ”Kirill Simonov told reporters before the premiere .

In the center of the story is a girl from a peasant family, Giselle, and a blue-blooded young man whom she fell in love with. And this love continued to live after her death. The beginning of the story shows the viewer Giselle’s earthly life, the simple joys of life that she finds in literally everything, dancing with her friends and meeting a man, because of whom, alas, an irreparable tragedy occurs.

On the stage in the second act, the old legend about the jeeps, retold by Heinrich Heine, comes to life. Willys are the ghosts of girls who left this world as brides. And now the music becomes more disturbing, and on the scenery instead of a cozy little town and flowers there are grave crosses. Every night, the jeeps come out of their graves and dance in wedding dresses with a veil until dawn. And it is better not to meet on their way, they are merciless and uncompromising, they will spin anyone in a deadly dance, remaining deaf to his pleas. So it was until Giselle appeared, as if her soul did not part with the body, and the heart of the ghost continues to love …

Stunning scenery, one house is worth something, the exceptional professionalism of the musicians and the incredibly spiritual “flights” of the performers of a ballet story that will last for centuries – this is Giselle from the artists of the Natalia Sats Theater on the stage of the RAMT.

Giselle is perhaps one of the most popular ballets in the world. It was she who glorified the French composer Adolphe Adam, despite the fact that he wrote quite a lot of works in other genres. The music of “Giselle” is recognizable, and this is the merit of the composer – a talented melodist. The score of the ballet will be presented in an almost complete, traditional version, which we have supplemented with several new fragments, ”Artyom Makarov shares with media representatives.

Incredible Anna Markova (Giselle), courageous Ivan Titov (Count Albert), plastic Dmitry Kruglov (Hans), lively Ekaterina Salimova (Berta), airy Maria Pavlova (Batilda), pompous Maxim Podshivalenko (Duke), warlike Viktor Knyazev (Squire), the majestic Ekaterina Zaitseva (Mirta) and the other characters of the production, impeccable in their professionalism, presented the audience with a delightful evening of ballet, ending with a ten-minute standing ovation and armfuls of flowers for the artists.
