The School of Dramatic Art Theater hosted the closing ceremony of the 6th Biennial Theater Arts Festival. Directing lessons. The festival was dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the meeting of K. S. Stanislavsky and V. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko in the “Slavianski Bazaar”, a fateful one for Russian and world culture, as well as to the creative heritage of the great founders of the Art Theater. The ceremony began with a sketch of the play “My name will not tell you anything” based on the book “Letters to the Art Theater” staged by Marina Brusnikina and artists of the Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov.
The winner was named master Alexei Borodin for the play “My Soul Pavel” (RAMT). As a prize, he received a cash grant for the next production and a statuette of Harlequin. The Audience Choice Award was presented to Alexei Pesegov for the play “The Mischievous Man” (Minusinsk Drama Theatre).
Directing Lessons is the only festival in the world whose jury consists of directors only. In odd years, the elders judge the young, and in even years, vice versa. This year’s contestants included masters of domestic directing from many cities: Sergei Bobrovsky, Alexei Borodin, Marina Brusnikina, Yuri Butusov, Sergei Zhenovach, Grigory Kozlov, Alexander Korshunov, Alexander Kuzin, Mikhail Levitin, Boris Mandzhiev, Vladimir Pankov, Alexei Pesegov, Anatoly Praudin , Oleg Rybkin, Damir Salimzyanov, Sergey Fedotov, Valery Fokin. And the jury includes young directors whose professional experience does not exceed 10 years: Artem Galushin, Aidar Zabbarov, Andrey Kalinin, Nikita Kobelev, Vladimir Kuznetsov, Artem Ustinov, Anatoly Shuliev. Voting also took place on the website of the Biennale of Theater Arts, and about 3,000 people took part in it.
The guests of the festive evening took part in the All-Russian action “Christmas Tree of Wishes”: theater and film stars removed one New Year’s ball each from the Christmas tree installed in the foyer of the theater. Inside there were notes from those Russian guys who especially need a miracle, and their wishes for the New Year will be fulfilled.
