Our planet has updated the population record: it officially exceeded 8 billion people.
According to the statistics provided by the online counter countrymetrics.info, 36% of the population are Chinese and Indians, and there are now about 20 million more Chinese than Indians. In third place in terms of population is the United States. The following countries follow: Indonesia, Pakistan, Brazil, Nigeria, Bangladesh. Russia in this list with a population of about 146 million people is in ninth place.
By the way, which is curious, the number of male population on Earth exceeds 4 billion, that is, there are more men on the planet than women. The largest number of representatives of the stronger sex lives in rich Arab countries, in particular, in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. For example, in Qatar, there are more than three men per woman. There are also more men than women in Iceland, Italy, Norway, China, India. The least number of men per woman is in most European countries of the post-Soviet space: in Belarus, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Armenia, and Estonia.
According to UN experts, by 2030 the world’s population will exceed 8.5 billion people, and by 2050 – 9 billion. But next year, again, according to experts, China may give way to India in terms of population.
