The operational headquarters of the government of the Republic of Buryatia to combat the spread of coronavirus infection at a meeting on August 15 decided to return the mask regime in the region. As Kommersant was told in the press service of the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor, wearing masks will be a preventive measure to reduce the growth rate of the incidence.
“During the previous week, the incidence in the region increased by 1.7 times. In this regard, it is necessary to return the wearing of masks at transport facilities, in public places with a large crowd of people, in social institutions, and on the premises of government bodies,” the department notes.
The timing of the return of the mask regime and a more detailed list of places to which it applies should be published in the near future in the decree of the head of the region on the portal of the government of Buryatia. According to the regional headquarters, as of August 15, 102 new cases of infection were detected (139.5 thousand since the beginning of the pandemic). There are 183 patients in hospitals, including 14 seriously ill patients. In Buryatia, more than 504,000 people, or 79.1% of the adult population, have been initially vaccinated.
