At the SKA – Torpedo match, which took place on March 1, a new world record for attendance at matches in indoor hockey arenas was set, the KHL press service reported. The game at the SKA Arena was attended by 23.9 thousand fans.
The previous record was set in the army team’s first match at the SKA Arena against Sochi in February. Then the stadium gathered 23.7 thousand people. The KHL press service recalled that the absolute record was set during the SKA – CSKA match in 2018 at the Gazprom Arena. It was visited by 67.7 thousand people.
As MK in St. Petersburg reported, SKA lost Torpedo in the first match of the playoff series with a score of 2:5. Commenting on the defeat, army head coach Roman Rotenberg accused “Torpedo” in dirty play and provocations. Next time the teams will also meet at the SKA Arena on March 3.
