The award ceremony for the winners of the first city schoolchildren’s sports day was held at the Yug-Arena sports complex in Stavropol, the press service of the city mayor’s office reported.
44 city schools took part in the event. More than 30 thousand children competed for prizes in 10 sports.
The head of the regional center, Ivan Ulyanchenko, presented diplomas to the participants and sets of balls for basketball, football and volleyball. The cadet school became the winner of the Spartakiad and the holder of a certificate worth 3 million rubles. Second place and 2 million rubles was awarded to school No. 50. The top three was completed by gymnasium No. 24, which was awarded a certificate for 1 million rubles.
The grants won will be used to repair the football field and basketball court at the cadet school and replace outdoor exercise equipment. School No. 50 will install a workout complex or a military obstacle course. In gymnasium No. 24, the gym will be renovated and new sports equipment will be purchased.
