Two corridors are opening in the Gaza Strip, with up to 150 trucks of humanitarian aid expected to arrive per day. This was announced by the coordinator for strategic communications at the National Security Council (NSC) of the White House, John Kirby.

“Two days ago [в сектор Газа] 96 trucks entered, yesterday there were 106. <...> We are targeting a continuous arrival of at least 150 trucks per day, that is the target we are working towards,” he said at a briefing (quote according to TASS).

It is noted that Israel will hold daily four-hour humanitarian pauses in some areas of the enclave from November 9.

Speaking about the humanitarian corridors, Kirby noted that one of them has been open for four to five hours every day for the past few days and has “already allowed many thousands of people to reach safer areas.” “A second route along the coast road will allow thousands more people to reach safer areas in the south [Газы]”, he added.

On November 8, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reopened a humanitarian corridor for the safe movement of residents of the Gaza Strip from the north to the south of the enclave.

On October 7, Israel began bombing the Gaza Strip. This happened after the Palestinian group Hamas attacked the southern regions of the country. During the Israeli attack, about 1,400 people were killed, and more than 200 were taken hostage by militants. The Palestinian Ministry of Health said more than 10,800 people were killed as a result of Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip.

On October 27, the same day as the IDF’s announcement to expand operations in the enclave, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution put forward by Arab countries calling for an immediate truce in the conflict zone. It condemns violence against civilians on both sides, and also calls for the release of illegally held prisoners and compliance with humanitarian law – not to attack peaceful civilian targets.
