Western countries were caught purchasing Russian titanium, despite sanctions
How reports The Washington Post newspaper, Western countries continued to purchase Russian titanium even after February 2022 and the introduction of restrictive sanctions against the Russian Federation.
The publication notes that titanium was exported to a number of Western countries by the Russian company VSMPO-Avisma.
“The company has exported titanium to the UK, Germany, France and the USA in amounts of more than $300 million annually since 2022,” the article says.
