RANEPA will begin training master’s degree managers in the field of domestic policy

RANEPA as a talent forge

The Higher School of Public Administration operates on the basis of RANEPA, within the framework of which a program for training a personnel management reserve is carried out. Since 2017, this has been the so-called “school of governors”, and from 2023 – the “school of mayors” for the training of municipal personnel. From the Kremlin side, they are supervised by First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Sergei Kiriyenko. Five streams have already graduated from the “school of governors”, and the sixth is currently undergoing training. Following the results of the training, President Vladimir Putin meets with graduates of this school.
In addition to the “school of governors” and “school of mayors,” RANEPA will also implement a personnel program for participants in the military special operation in Ukraine, which Putin announced in his message to the Federal Assembly on February 29, proposing to call it “The Time of Heroes.” Starting March 1, special operations veterans, soldiers and officers who are currently participating in combat operations, and also have higher education and management experience, will be able to apply to participate in the first training stream of a special personnel program.
In March, the academy also launched the first master’s course for training media technologists and managers in the field of designing the information and political space. Starting in September, this program will also accept undergraduate students. It is assumed that graduates will have a specialty in “strategic communicator” or “media communicator,” and undergraduates will have a “Master of Political Science” (“Strategic Communications Management”). The course will include general information theory, the theory of political processes, social hypotheses and models, seven communication theories, psychology, PR, advertising, and working with images.
