Forecaster Tishkovets predicted a warm and snowy February in Moscow

The air temperature in February may be three to four degrees warmer than normal, while precipitation will be 40% more than long-term values. This was stated by the leading specialist of the Phobos weather center, Evgeny Tishkovets.

He told the agency RIA Newsthat the temperature norm in February at night is -11.1 degrees, and during the day -4.2 degrees. Thus, -7…-8 degrees are expected at night, and about 0 during the day.

“The second part of winter neutralizes the climatic cold formed during the season. Precipitation will be 40% more than the long-term norm, which is 44 millimeters,” said Evgeniy Tishkovets.

According to the expert, despite the unstable weather, snowdrifts in Moscow will continue to grow – their height will be 50-60 centimeters.

As for the outgoing January, Tishkovets noted that the second month of winter was, on the contrary, colder than normal – by 2.2 degrees. There was also an excess of precipitation by 15%, which led to a 25% increase in snow depth.
