The press service of the Muftiate of Tatarstan reported that the quota for the Hajj by Russian Muslims has been increased.
In 2023, the Hajj quota for Russian Muslims will be 25,000 seats. The volume of quotas for the Hajj returned to the previous, that is, pre-pandemic level, the report says.
For pilgrims, all age restrictions have also been removed: they were introduced in connection with the difficult sanitary and epidemiological situation in the world. So, last year, Russian pilgrims performed the hajj after a break, observing a number of conditions. One of them was the age limit of 65 years.
In 2020, the total number of quotas was 3 million places, for the Russian Federation – 25 thousand places, for Tatarstan – 1.8 thousand places.
