The Vologda basketball team lost five out of six games. Athletes had to complete their performance in the superfinal.
The winner of the tournament was the SUOMO Gazprom team from Novy Urengoy. In the main match, the Urengoy team snatched victory from the basketball players from Tauras-Phoenix, St. Petersburg, with a score of 76:65.
Vologda residents took the third place in group D of the superfinal and failed to reach the quarterfinals. In the playoffs for 9th-16th places, the Volboys team was defeated three times by their rivals, losing to Domingo (Novokuznetsk) with a score of 80:88, BGU Voenmekh (St. Petersburg) with a score of 79:85 and AP TRADE” – 77:89. And only at the very beginning of the tournament, the Vologda residents were able to enjoy the victory over AP TRADE in the group stage.
The team’s coach, Yevgeny Orobinsky, believes that the team has potential, the game went smoothly, not many points were lost.
“We will analyze the results. If we manage to neutralize the shortcomings, then in the next final we will be ready to take higher places, ”summed up the Volboys coach.
In November, our team will take part in the first league of the Northwestern Federal District. Last year, the guys took third place here.
