Commissioner for Human Rights in the Vladimir Region Lyudmila Romanova reported Forbes, which will check information about the deteriorating health of former Moscow municipal deputy Alexei Gorinov. The 62-year-old politician is serving time in IK-2 in the Vladimir region in the case of fake news about the Russian army.

Lyudmila Romanova explained that she could not provide details of Gorinov’s imprisonment, citing the Law “On Personal Data.” She only said that “the information has been noted and will be verified.”

On December 8, Alexei Gorinov’s lawyer said that his client had “active bronchitis, fever, and constant chills.” According to the lawyer, Gorinov sought medical help from the colony leadership, but was refused.

December 10, Russian doctors wrote an open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to hospitalize Alexei Gorinov. He suffered from tuberculosis for a long time, after which a lobe of his lung was removed. However, as doctors note, the politician still has lesions in his lung tissue. His condition was described in the letter as life-threatening.

On July 8, 2022, the Meshchansky Court of Moscow sentenced Alexey Gorinov to seven years in a general regime colony in the case of disseminating false information about the Russian armed forces (Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). The appeal reduced his sentence by one month. In October of this year, in relation to the former Gorinov aroused a criminal case to justify terrorism (Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
