The US will allocate $200 million to Ukraine

The administration of US President Joe Biden plans to announce on October 11 the allocation of another package of military assistance to Ukraine worth about $200 million, according to a Reuters report.
However, the contents of the new aid package have not been disclosed. A corresponding meeting of the contact group is planned to be held on October 11, at which the decision will be announced.
Earlier, Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder said that given the adoption of a temporary budget in the United States that does not provide assistance to Ukraine, there are no plans to allocate funds from other budget items, he said. Ryder noted that technically such a possibility exists, but it is implemented only when absolutely necessary. According to him, no such decisions have been made yet. The Pentagon representative noted that his department intends to continue working with Congress on the issue of allocating money for Ukraine.
The exclusion of Ukrainian aid from the temporary (45-day) budget law for the government was a condition of the Republicans for their vote in the House of Representatives for this document. In order to prevent the cessation of government agencies due to lack of funding (shutdown), Biden had to sign the document before 00.00 Sunday (07.00 Moscow time). Now the US government will receive short-term funding for 45 days, which made it possible to avoid a shutdown from October 1.
Earlier, the Pentagon informed the American Congress about the exhaustion of financial resources allocated to replace military equipment sent from the United States to Ukraine. According to the letter, Pentagon Comptroller Michael McCord told House and Senate leaders that only $1.6 billion remained of the $25.9 billion Congress had appropriated to replenish US military reserves. These reserves include millions of artillery shells, missiles and other weapons that are critical to Ukraine’s defense.
The Pentagon said that without additional funding, the United States will be forced to delay or reduce the supply of air defense systems, ammunition and unmanned vehicles, which are currently considered critical and urgent.
