The US Office for the Study of Comprehensive Anomalies, established in July 2022, has a website. Its task is to inform the public about the activities of the department.

The term “NLF” in the United States was proposed as an alternative to the term “UFO” in order to make the field of activity of the department look less “conspiratorial”. Strictly speaking, in the phrase “unidentified flying object” nothing implies that this object is an alien spacecraft, but popular culture has given the abbreviation just such a meaning.
