State Duma deputy Sokol may withdraw from the election of the head of Khakassia

State Duma deputy from United Russia, candidate for governor of Khakassia Sergei Sokol may withdraw from the election. This is reported by Vedomosti sources close to the Presidential Administration, United Russia and the Communist Party.
The Communist Party of the Russian Federation assumes that two more campaign participants will withdraw from the elections – Mikhail Molchanov from the Liberal Democratic Party and Vladimir Grudinin from the Communists of Russia. The interlocutor in the presidential administration refutes this.
Molchanov told Vedomosti that he did not plan to withdraw his candidacy from the election of the head of Khakassia: “I am a representative of the LDPR party, I have a party leadership, a party decision. The party goes to these elections, nothing has changed with us.”
Grudin’s phone is switched off. The first secretary of the republican committee of this party, deputy of the Supreme Council Denis Brazauskas, could not answer the question of Vedomosti about whether Grudinin’s candidacy would be withdrawn from the elections.
If all candidates, except for the governor from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Valentin Konovalov, manage to withdraw before the first round, then the election commission should postpone voting for up to three months for additional nomination of candidates, lawyer Anton Timchenko told Vedomosti.
At the same time, Konovalov’s powers will end on November 15. On this day in 2018, he was inaugurated. If the elections are held later than November 15, then the president may appoint an acting head of Khakassia.
Sokol is now in serious condition and is undergoing treatment at the hospital. Vishnevsky in Moscow, the press service of United Russia reported.
