The US House of Representatives voted to approve a project to finance the government for 45 days without assistance to Ukraine. Based on the voting results, the project was supported and sent to the Senate.
Recall that the White House asked Congress to allocate money to cover government expenses until the full budget for 2024 is approved. A temporary budget is needed to avoid a government shutdown due to the exhaustion of financial resources (shutdown).
As a result, the Republicans proposed a project that would not include assistance to Ukraine. Let us remind you that the lower house is controlled by the Republican Party (222 seats versus 212 for the Democrats).
