American authorities currently do not see any large-scale attempts by the Lebanese Hezbollah movement to open a second front against Israel. John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, made this statement on Wednesday, November 8.
As Kirby noted, Washington saw several rocket attacks on northern Israel from southern Lebanon.
Despite this, “we have not seen any large-scale attempts on the part of Hezbollah to join this fight or open a second front,” the representative of the American Security Council emphasized.
At the same time, Kirby refused to confirm reports that the White House allegedly proposed to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to suspend hostilities in the Gaza Strip for three days for humanitarian purposes.
It was previously reported that Israel is launching powerful strikes on Gaza amid an outbreak of violence on the border with Lebanon. There were reports of powerful explosions in the Palestinian sector, and communities in northern Israel were subjected to mortar and rocket fire from the Lebanese Hezbollah.
