The United States and Japan have agreed to create a joint low-orbit satellite system to track missiles. This was reported in a statement by US President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, which was signed after negotiations in Washington. According to information published by the White House press service, plans for cooperation in the field of hypersonic aircraft and possible interaction with American companies have also been announced.
The two leaders expressed joy at the conclusion of a lunar exploration agreement, under which Japan will send a rover to the Moon and the United States will provide two Japanese astronauts. Deepening cooperation in the field of cosmonaut training is also being discussed.
At a news conference following the meeting, Biden announced plans to add Japanese astronauts to future American space missions and that one of them would become the first non-American to land on the moon.
