Sullivan: US will allow Europe to train pilots of the Armed Forces on the F-16 and transfer the necessary funds
National Security Adviser to the head of the White House, Jake Sullivan, during a long interview with American television channels, said that the United States would allow its European allies to train Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16 fighter jets.
“The President gave the green light,” he referred to his boss. “We will allow, support and provide the necessary tools for Ukrainians to start training on the F-16.” He outlined the terms as follows: “As soon as the Europeans are ready.” But he further clarified that European countries “need a couple of weeks to be ready to organize the necessary training equipment.”
Meanwhile, regarding the formal permission of the United States to train Ukrainian pilots on the F-16, the Pentagon previously said that the request was being considered.
