Deputy Kartapolov: “Wagner” went to Belarus to capture the Suwalki corridor
Andrei Kartapolov, head of the RF State Duma Defense Committee, said that the transfer of Wagner PMC to Belarus after an attempted rebellion in Russia has a specific goal. On the air of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, the deputy expressed the opinion that the fighters of Yevgeny Prigozhin were allowed to settle in a neighboring country to perform an important task.
“We talked about the subtle move of our supreme commander… It is clear that the Wagners went to Belarus to train the Belarusian armed forces. In fact, not only. And not so much,” Kartapolov said.
He recalled that “there is such a Suwalki corridor”, which “in which case we really need it” – the Suwalki corridor is located on the border of Poland and Lithuania and runs from the northern border of Belarus to the Kaliningrad region.
“The shock fist is ready, which this unfortunate corridor will take in a matter of hours,” the deputy believes.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has not yet commented on Kartapolov’s assumption about the existence of any plans of this kind.
