The American company Lockheed Martin announced the successful testing, together with the US Army, of a new operational-tactical missile PrSM, which will replace ATACMS.

The Precision Strike Missile Increment 1 missile is designed to deliver a high-precision strike. It will also be launched from the HIMARS MLRS complex, like the ATACMS missile. At the same time, the new missile surpasses ATACMS in range (499 km) and accuracy, and also has an almost vertical engagement angle.

The report said the missile successfully hit targets at the White Sands Missile Range during a test on November 13.

It is expected that the missile will begin to enter service with the troops in the first quarter of 2024.
