During the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in San Francisco, no joint events are planned between members of the American and Russian delegations. The head of the State Department press service, Matthew Miller, spoke about this on Tuesday, November 14.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman noted that he knows nothing about any meetings planned within the framework of the APEC summit between representatives of the United States and members of the delegation from Russia.
Earlier, the State Department’s senior representative for APEC, Matt Murray, said that the United States faced disagreements when agreeing on the final declaration of the upcoming summit because of the members’ position on Ukraine. According to the official, such disagreements arise “over the past couple of years”.
At the same time, Washington assured that Russia would be considered full participant in the APEC summitand the head of the Russian delegation will have the opportunity to take full part in the events, although “Russia’s participation was certainly affected by sanctions.”
