Belize withdraws its agreement to accredit the Ambassador of Israel due to the situation in the Gaza Strip, reported government of the country.

In a press release, the country’s government accused Tel Aviv of sustained and indiscriminate attacks on the Gaza Strip, which have killed more than 11,000 people, mostly women and children. Belize authorities allegedly called on Israel to enforce a ceasefire and allow unhindered access to humanitarian supplies, but Tel Aviv continued to violate international humanitarian law.

“The Government of Belize withdraws its accreditation agreement for Einat Kranz-Neiger, the Israeli Ambassador-designate to Belize,” the statement said.

In addition, the country’s authorities decided to suspend all activities of its honorary consulate in Tel Aviv.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) began carrying out strikes in the Gaza Strip after Hamas militants attacked the southern parts of the country on October 7. As a result of the Israeli attack, about 1,200 people were killed, and more than 200 were taken hostage by militants. The Palestinian Health Ministry said Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip have killed more than 11,000 people.

On November 13, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced that Hamas had lost control of the Gaza Strip. On the same day, the militants requested a five-day truce to exchange captured women and children.
