The United States deployed F-22 fighters to the Middle East due to Russian aviation in the region

The Pentagon has sent a group of fifth-generation F-22 Raptor fighter jets to the area of responsibility of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), which is also responsible for operations in the Middle East. The American side explained this decision by the “unsafe and unprofessional” behavior of Russian aviation in the region.
“The unsafe and unprofessional behavior of the Russian armed forces is not what we expect from a professional air force. Their regular violation of agreed airspace deconfliction measures increases the risk of escalation or miscalculation,” said Michael Kurilla, head of CENTCOM.
Earlier today the German government presented the country’s first national security strategy, which called Russia “the most serious threat” to order in Europe. At the same time, Germany advocates open relations, “neither Germany nor NATO are looking for a confrontation with Russia.”
Today, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that at the summit in Vilnius, the member countries of the alliance will adopt military plans to deploy more than 300,000 troops on their territory.
On February 18, Stoltenberg said that a Russian victory in the Ukrainian conflict would be “extremely dangerous” for NATO, so it is necessary to continue to support Ukraine. The secretary general also believes that the countries of the alliance should prepare for confrontation with Russia: modernize their own armies, strengthen relations between European countries and the United States, and generally strengthen the “resilience” of Western society.
