The Russian Federation should immediately accept the US prisoner exchange offer. This was stated by the official representative of the White House Karine Jean-Pierre.
As the press secretary of the American administration noted, the US authorities will seek to conclude an agreement with the Russian side on the exchange of prisoners. Jean-Pierre also said that the country’s authorities are interacting with former diplomat Bill Richardson, who is involved in the negotiation process for a prisoner exchange.
The American leadership emphasizes that dialogue with Russia on this issue continues even after the departure of the US ambassador from Moscow. Currently, US citizens convicted of various crimes are in Russian prisons and colonies.
