The Russian Foreign Ministry criticized the UK’s decision not to invite Russian representatives to the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. Such a move is immoral says in the comments of the official representative of the Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

It is noted that the British side told the Russian department that it does not plan to invite Russia to the funeral of the monarch. Great Britain pointed to the conduct of a special operation by Russia in Ukraine.

“We consider this British attempt to use the national tragedy, which has touched the hearts of millions of people around the world, for geopolitical purposes to settle scores with our country during the days of mourning, as deeply immoral,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

The ministry also expressed its condolences to the British people.

Former Russian Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov informedthat Russian President Vladimir Putin does not plan to attend the funeral of Elizabeth II. Then the representative of the Kremlin did not answer the question of who will represent Russia at the funeral of Elizabeth II. Peskov clarified that it is necessary to wait for the official protocol of the ceremony.

Later PA agency citing sources reportedthat the UK did not invite representatives of Russia, Belarus and Myanmar to the ceremony. After that, Peskov again emphasizedthat Putin was not originally going to come to the Queen’s funeral. At the same time, the President of Russia expressed condolences on the death of the monarch, the spokesman recalled.
