The United States wants to immediately enter into arms control discussions with Russia and China. This statement was made on Monday, March 18, by the US permanent representative to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield.
At a meeting of the Security Council of the world organization, the diplomat said that “the United States wishes to enter into bilateral discussions on arms control with Russia and China right now without preconditions.”
According to Thomas-Greenfield, “all you (Moscow and Beijing) have to do is say yes and come to the negotiating table in good faith.”
Earlier, Special Assistant to the American President and Senior Director for Arms Control, Disarmament and Nonproliferation at the American National Security Council, Pranay Vaddi, assured that the United States does not consider the conflict in Ukraine an obstacle to dialogue with Russia on strategic stability.
Former American Army intelligence officer Tony Shaffer noted that the Russian Armed Forces prevailed not only over the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but also over the Western military-political bloc NATO. He emphasized that “the Russians won,” since no injections from the West will help the Kyiv regime.
