President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko called Vladimir Putin and congratulated him on his “convincing victory in the elections.” According to Mr. Lukashenko, the election results are “stunning.” The president’s words are quoted by his press service.

“The elections were held as organized as anywhere else. No matter how they try to shake us up here from the West, the results are very good. The Russian Embassy worked very well in contact with our officials. Therefore, I convey to you his gratitude for the work and organization of the elections of the President of Russia on the territory of Belarus,” said Alexander Lukashenko (quoted from BELTA). “Of course, the result is stunning,” added the Belarusian president.

According to the Central Election Commission, after processing 99.7% of the protocols, Vladimir Putin received 87.31% of the votes. The CEC will announce the final results of the elections on Thursday, March 21. Vladimir Putin has already been congratulated on his victory by the presidents of Bolivia, Honduras and Nicaragua, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as the leader of the DPRK.
