The US authorities have recently introduced new sanctions against Russia on average every six weeks. According to the coordinator of the American sanctions policy, James O’Brien, who works in the structure of the US State Department, these paces should continue in the future.
At a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing, the senator noted that in the coming months, Washington’s sanctions pressure will be focused on key “vulnerabilities” in the Russian economy, as well as military supply chains.
In the future, the pressure will only increase. So Washington expects to get Moscow’s mouth to change its position on Ukraine.
The Wall Street Journal previously reported that US President Joe Biden’s administration intends to impose new sanctions against Russia, including against the Mir payment system, as well as the Deposit Insurance Agency. Sanctions may also affect the National Settlement Depository and the National Clearing Center.
Earlier it was reported that the Biden administration opposed secondary sanctions for the purchase of Russian oil.
