Reports of the killing of Russian prisoners of war by the Ukrainian military must be carefully investigated, the UN is concerned about the situation around the soldiers held captive. Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesman for the UN Secretary General, announced this.

“We are concerned about any human rights violations, regardless of who commits them. You could see that the head of the UN human rights monitoring mission in Ukraine, Matilda Bogner, presented a report last week in which, among other things, she drew the attention of reporters and the world in general to the problem of prisoners who are reportedly being killed by the Ukrainian side. This should be paid attention to, this should be investigated thoroughly, ”he said (cit. according to RIA Novosti).

On November 18, two videos appeared on Telegram channels, which allegedly depicted the execution of Russian servicemen who had surrendered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

After that, the Russian Ministry of Defense called footage confirming the “knackering essence of the current Kyiv regime.” The department stressed that this case is not the first war crime committed against Russian prisoners of war.
