UN: A quarter of Gaza families face catastrophic famine
Experts from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the UN World Food Program presented an analysis of food security in the Gaza Strip after the outbreak of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Experts note that from December 2023 and, according to forecasts, until February 2024, a crisis of severe food insecurity will affect the entire population of the Gaza Strip. At the same time, already 26% of the enclave’s residents are on the verge of catastrophic famine.
Let us remind you that 2.2 million people currently live in Gaza.
“There is a risk of starvation (for Gazans – editor’s note) if access to food, clean water, medical and sanitation services is not restored,” the UN said.
