The State Tretyakov Gallery has not yet received official documents from the Ministry of Culture formalizing the transfer of the Trinity icon by Andrey Rublev to the Russian Orthodox Church. This was reported to Kommersant by a source in the museum. At the moment, the icon is in the restoration workshop of the Tretyakov Gallery.
On May 17, an expanded restoration council convened in the gallery, having discussed the state of preservation of the icon, came to the conclusion that the Trinity cannot be moved outside the museum for at least a year. Nevertheless, on the same day, it became known that by order of the President of the Russian Federation, Rublev’s “Trinity” was transferred to the Russian Orthodox Church.
