The translator who worked at the press conference of the presidents of Turkey and Ukraine disgraced himself by failing to translate Erdogan’s statements into Ukrainian.
Earlier, Erdogan and Zelensky held a meeting in Turkey, and after it a press conference.
Thus, the simultaneous interpreter failed to translate Erdogan’s speech into Ukrainian, and pronounced only incoherent words and letters. The corresponding videos are going viral on social networks.
After this, Zelensky had to intervene in the translator’s work. Commentators on the videos joke that the synchronized swimmer “lied on his resume.”
Earlier it was reported that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced Turkey’s readiness to hold a peace summit on Ukrainian issues and invite representatives of the Russian Federation to it. At the same time, Zelensky once again stated that the settlement in Ukraine should not take place with the participation of Russia.
Regarding the peace summit, the Kremlin has repeatedly said that all Russia’s demands have long been voiced, and the conflict can be resolved taking into account actual conditions. At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that first Kyiv should abolish the law prohibiting negotiations with Russia. According to him, Russia has never been against resolving the conflict in Ukraine through peaceful means, but subject to the security guarantees of the Russian Federation.
