Drivers who violated traffic rules in Belgorod on the afternoon of December 30 during massive shelling from Ukraine will not be fined. This was reported by the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which received a large number of questions from local residents on social networks.
“Administrative traffic offenses recorded by cameras between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on December 30, 2023 will not be considered for the purpose of issuing decisions in connection with the actions of drivers in a state of emergency,”— said in a message from the department. If such a decision is made, drivers are advised to contact any traffic police department or submit an application through State Services.
December 30 Belgorod hit under the most powerful fire since the beginning of a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine. As a result of the explosions in the city center, 25 people were killed and more than a hundred were injured. Damage got more than 1 thousand buildings.
The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that the attack was carried out by the Ukrainian military with two Vilkha missiles, as well as Czech-made Vampire MLRS rockets. After the massive shelling, the authorities promised to help residents of Belgorod with a temporary move to cities remote from the border with Ukraine.
