The torch relay of the VIII Children of Asia Games was held in the city of Lensk. The flame was passed through the streets of the city by 18 torchbearers, among whom were famous athletes, participants in previous Children of Asia Games and sports veterans. The relay ended on Lenin Square in Lensk on Saturday, March 30, reports the press service of the head and government of Yakutia.
The start of the torch relay of the VIII Children of Asia Games took place on March 20 in the homeland of the founder of these games, Mikhail Efimovich Nikolaev, in the Khangalassky district.
“In 1996, the first president of our republic, Mikhail Nikolaev, presented these wonderful Games to the world. Today we see that they have become a symbol of our republic and our country. This year young athletes from many countries of the world will come to us. Our republic remains a place that attracts true athletes. Fair, uncompromising sports competition is being conducted here in the name of friendship.
