The 5th Winter Sports Spartakiad of Yakutia ended in the cities of Aldan and Neryungri yesterday, March 30, reports the press service of the head and government of the republic.
“This Spartakiad became a true celebration of sports and friendship. All participants were pleasantly surprised by the high level of organization of the competition and amazing conditions. I am glad to see how winter sports are developing and writing new pages in the history of sports in Yakutia,” the head of the republic, Aisen Nikolaev, is quoted as saying.
It is noted that more than 1,100 athletes from all over the republic competed for the title of best. Teams from Yakutsk, Churapchinsky, Oymyakonsky and Momsky districts were recognized as the leaders of the Spartakiad.
Participants were divided into four groups based on population size.
