“One time I had to escort an unstable to the hospital”
Among those who will receive congratulations on March 8, there are many women in uniform. One of them is Tatyana, a general practitioner at one of the military polyclinics of the National Guard, a captain in the medical service. In January, she returned from the special operation zone, where she worked as part of a medical reinforcement brigade for more than three months. She was awarded the departmental medal “For Combat Distinction”.
Tatyana is a graduate of the Perm Medical Academy. The university had a military department. So she became a reserve lieutenant a year before graduating from the academy. She worked at the Veterans Hospital. Then she began serving in the National Guard.
Tatyana talks sparingly about her work there, in the NVO zone, as part of a medical reinforcement brigade. He says that therapists, unlike anesthesiologists or surgeons, are a little easier. They often have to work with the seriously wounded. Although she had to help colleagues more than once or twice when there were not enough hands.
“One time I had to escort an unstable person to the hospital,” says Tatyana. – Several wounds, intubated, that is, a breathing tube in the trachea. At some point, the heart stopped, and the man was not breathing, unconscious. Almost all the way, for several hours, he had to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation, administer drugs. You pump and pump, I’m already exhausted, I think, well, everything, probably, I’m looking at my watch – and I still have to fly for an hour and a half. And miraculously “wound up”, the heartbeat returned. I just exhaled that he was breathing, and the guy is already clapping me on the shoulder: “This is my friend, thank you.”
– More than a month has passed since we returned from the NWO zone. Do you remember?
– Certainly. Somehow they took a child, a girl of about ten years old, she looks like my daughters. Until now, if I remember that child, a lump rolls up in my throat.
Did the men help?
“They still need a man’s help. A woman at the front cannot cope without men.
– Relatives were waiting, probably, very much?
Yes, two daughters. Worried, worried. They stayed with their grandparents, because my husband had a heart attack, he had coronary bypass surgery, he was in the hospital.
Did you manage to communicate with your family?
– Periodically. Colleagues were supportive and helpful. They didn’t leave one.
– How do you feel about March 8?
– A wonderful holiday, joyful.
What do you expect from men on this day?
– Attention, compliments.
Are you on duty on your holiday?
They let me go on vacation. In general, men usually change us these days. We always work on February 23, and they – starting from March 7. This is a tradition. Only nurses can go out on holiday, because there are no nurses.
– Tatyana, what if you need to go to the NWO again?
– If the Motherland is in danger and cannot live without us, of course, we will go and help.
