RIA Novosti, citing an informed source, reports that the temperature in the Russian Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft docked to the ISS has reached 50 degrees due to an accident in the cooling system. NASA and Roskosmos reported that there was no threat to the station and no risks to the crew.
“The temperature inside the Soyuz has already risen to 50 degrees Celsius due to the failure of the cooling system. Currently, Roscosmos specialists are trying various ways to reduce it,” the source said.
Earlier it became known that the outer skin of the Soyuz MS-22 was damaged, resulting in a leak from the cooling system. The Russian crew reported to the MCC about the corresponding operation of the ship’s diagnostic system, while the cosmonauts noted that they also observed the leak visually. The disruption of the system caused the cancellation of the Russian crew’s spacewalk.
Roskosmos believes that the cause of the damage could be the impact of a micrometeorite.
