All schools and institutions of additional education in Yekaterinburg will switch to distance learning from December 19, reported in the press service of the mayor’s office. The restriction will be in effect until December 26 – before the start of the New Year holidays. The decision to transfer students to distance learning is associated with an increase in the incidence of SARS and influenza, especially among adolescents. Now in Yekaterinburg, 234 classes have already been quarantined, in which about 2 thousand children study.
“Distance, like everything else in the world, has its pros and cons. Its main advantage in today’s circumstances is that we will separate the children’s groups, which will reduce the further spread of infections,” said Deputy Mayor Ekaterina Sibirtseva.
Kindergartens continue to operate as usual, transferring certain groups to quarantine if necessary.
