The traditional swim “Swim to Victory”, timed to coincide with the end of World War II, will be held in the Sakhalin Region on September 2, the press service of the regional Ministry of Sports reported.
The event will begin early in the morning at 7:30 am at Glory Square, where participants will gather to lay flowers at the memorial. Then, at 8:50, a swim will take place in the village of Pervaya Pad, Korsakovsky district. Swimmers will have to overcome about 15 km to the beach in the Aniva village of Peschankoe.
Anyone who has reached the age of 18 years and older can take part in the competition. To do this, you need to register by going to link.
Applications will be accepted until August 31st. Participants must provide the original medical clearance certificate and insurance. The total number of available places is limited – only 20 units.
