The Sverdlovsk Region hosted the Sambo to School festival for the first time

For the first time in the Sverdlovsk region, the “Sambo to School” festival took place, which was held at school No. 25 in Verkhnyaya Pyshma. Teams from Yekaterinburg, Aramil, Artey and Verkhnyaya Pyshma took part in the competition.

According to the organizer of the festival, executive director of the Sverdlovsk Region Sambo Federation Leonid Putintsev, the idea to hold the competition appeared a year ago.

The teams competed in three disciplines: “Demo Sambo”, “GTO Sambo”, “Sports Sambo”. The first stage is a mixture of sambo and dance.

“There are few girls at our school who practice sambo. Participants of the dance section volunteered to join the school Sambo to School team. In just a month, they had to master sambo techniques, and the boy wrestlers had to learn dance movements,” says the director of secondary school No. 25, Larisa Razumnaya. “Both a choreographer and a sambo coach worked with the guys at the same time.”

Next, the team members passed the GTO standards: self-insurance and self-defense. They had to demonstrate the techniques clearly, competently and harmoniously. At the third stage, the competition participants showed their wrestling skills.

“I believe that you guys will join the ranks of the Sverdlovsk region sambo team, I’m waiting for you at the Verkhnyaya Pyshma Sambo Club – the strongest in Russia,” Valery Stennikov, director of the Verkhny Pyshma Sambo Club, encouraged the participants.

The coordinator of the “For Sambo” project in the Sverdlovsk region, deputy of the Legislative Assembly Alexey Svalov noted that the “Sambo to School” festival is being held in the region for the first time. It will become a qualifying stage for regional competitions, which will be held on October 10 at the Verkhnyaya Pyshma Sambo Palace. Athletes from Tyumen, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug and other regions of the Ural Federal District will take part in them.

“The winners will represent the district at the All-Russian Sambo to School competition,” said Alexey Svalov. – I wish the guys victory at the regional tour. I would like the Urals Federal District to be represented by a team from the Sverdlovsk region.”

The winners of the “Sambo to School” competition were the team from educational institution No. 16 from Yekaterinburg. In second place is school No. 33 from Verkhnyaya Pyshma, in third place is school No. 25 from Verkhnyaya Pyshma.

MK-Ural previously reported that in Nizhny Tagil four new halls for sambo classes were opened in schools. They are located in different parts of the city to attract more children to the classes.
