Women serving their sentences in correctional colony No. 6 in Nizhny Tagil (Sverdlovsk region) did not turn to the administration of the institution with a request to send them as volunteers for a special military operation (SVO) of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, Kommersant-Ural was told in the press service of the GUFSIN.
Information that women prisoners from the Sverdlovsk region wish to take part in the SVO, appeared in the Telegram channel of the press service of the Concorde company, headed by the founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin and addressed by the deputy of the legislative assembly of the Sverdlovsk region Vyacheslav Wegner.
Mr. Wegner told Kommersant-Ural that he had received a letter signed by about 20-25 female prisoners. “We wanted to participate in the special operation as orderlies, nurses, doctors, to provide primary care to the wounded, to provide assistance in hospitals. I believe that this is possible and should be done. This is front-line assistance. If they want to participate, why not give them the opportunity? Therefore, for my part, I turned to Yevgeny Prigozhin, ”explained Mr. Wegner.
Yevgeny Prigozhin, in a response letter, agreed with the deputy’s opinion, noting that women prisoners can be sent to the front not only as nurses and signalmen, but also as part of sabotage groups and sniper pairs. The businessman noted that he is “working in this direction,” but “there is resistance.”
