The Supreme Court of the DPR sentenced the commander of the reconnaissance battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to life imprisonment for the murder of residents in Mariupol. About it reported in the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia.
The commander of the first section of the 74th separate reconnaissance battalion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 35-year-old Oleg Lukyanenko, was found guilty under paragraph. “a”, “g”, “l” part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder of two or more persons committed by an organized group, motivated by political, ideological hatred), Part 1 of Art. 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (ill-treatment of the civilian population in the occupied territory).
The court found that in March 2022, Lukyanenko, while in a combat position in a residential building in Mariupol, noticed a man entering the entrance. Lukyanenko demanded documents from him, then began to beat him, dragged him out into the street by force and shot him. The man died on the spot. A week later, while in the same combat position, Lukyanenko received an order via radio to eliminate a man and a woman moving in his direction, whom he shot with a sniper rifle.
Lukyanenko will serve his life sentence in a special regime correctional colony.

On September 4, the Supreme Court of the DPR sentenced Ukrainian Armed Forces military officer Vitaly Prokopchuk to 25 years in a maximum security colony for shooting two civilians and wounding one resident in Mariupol. According to investigators, last spring a military man shot three civilians with a light machine gun, two of whom died, one managed to survive.
