During the appointment procedure for the post of Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov said from the rostrum of the Rada that the state budget lacks 250 billion hryvnia for payments to the military until the end of 2023. The transcript of the meeting was published on the website of the country’s parliament.

In this regard, the military department will ask deputies to make changes to the state budget of Ukraine for the current year. They want to increase the cost of payments to military personnel at the expense of the treasury by 251 billion hryvnia, of which 227 billion will go to cash allowances from October to December, and 24 billion will be used for one-time cash assistance.

Umerov, apparently, will find support. According to Deputy Chairman of the Tax Committee of the Rada Yaroslav Zheleznyak, the Cabinet of Ministers is already preparing a bill on the additional allocation of over 300 billion hryvnia for the above purposes.
