Average bill – 1500 rubles

In the summer months of this year, Russian residents much more often preferred to relax in restaurants than in other seasons of the year. This conclusion was reached by analysts from a company that provides a service for paying bills using a QR code.

Statistics that analysts collected over 10 months of the year showed that from June to August, the attendance of restaurants and cafes was evenly distributed across the days of the week, while in other times of the year, attendance peaks on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays. On average, 8 weekends in a 31-day month accounted for 49% of all invoices paid.

Peaks of attendance during the day are predictable – business lunch time (from 12:30 to 15:00) and evening time (from 20:00 to 23:00). This is typical for all city restaurants and cafes in Russia. Bill payments during these hours accounted for 54% of the total, of which 28% were made at lunchtime, the remaining 26% in the evening.

The average bill in city catering establishments was 1.5 thousand rubles, and in upscale restaurants with gourmet cuisine – 5 thousand rubles. At the same time, restaurants in both categories spend 76% more in the evening than during lunch.

In addition, the study showed that 40% of Russians prefer to split the check. Most often this happens when a large company comes to the restaurant.
