The state prosecution in Belarus asked for 19 years in prison for Tikhanovskaya

Former candidate for the presidency of Belarus Svetlana Tikhanovskaya and opposition activist Pavel Latushko, the state prosecutor in the Minsk City Court asked to be sentenced in absentia to 19 years in prison.
As became known BelTAto other representatives of the coordinating council – Sergey Dylevsky, Maria Moroz and Olga Kovalkova – the prosecutor asked to appoint a prison term of 12 years.
For women, the public prosecutor requested a stay in a general regime colony, for men – enhanced.
The prosecutor asked all the defendants to be found guilty of conspiracy against state power with the aim of seizing it by unconstitutional means. They are also accused of creating an extremist group and its leadership.
In mid-February, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya suggested Belarus to withdraw from the Union State Treaty with Russia and the CSTO, and denounce all agreements signed after the 2020 elections.
